Short-Bio:
A. Hamit Serbest was born in Adana in 1953. He received his Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral Degrees from Istanbul Technical University, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department in 1975, 1977, and 1982, respectively.
Between 1991 and 1992, he worked as a visiting researcher at the German Aerospace Research Institute in Germany with a scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He worked as Microwave Remote Sensing Project Manager at TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center between 1992 and 1995, as TÜBİTAK Vision 2023 Technology Foresight Project Education and Human Resources Group Coordinator between 2002 and 2004, and as TÜBİTAK President's Advisor between 2004 and 2006.
He served as the Chairman of the URSI (International Union of Radio Science) Turkish National Committee between 2000 and 2012. He served as the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the "XXXth General Assembly and Scientific Symposium" meeting hosted by the URSI Turkey National Committee in Istanbul between 13-20 August 2011.
He served as a member, president and former president of the "Engineering Education Programs Accreditation Board" from 2002 until 2012, when it was established within MÜDEK (Engineering Evaluation Board), which carries out the evaluation and accreditation of undergraduate programs of engineering faculties.
He was the executive of the Adana ÜSAM (University-Industry Joint Research Center) project between 1997 and 2000, with the support of TÜBİTAK ÜSAM Program. He was appointed as the Founding Director of TÜBİTAK Adana ÜSAM, which was established on May 6, 2000 by the decision of the TÜBİTAK Scientific Board.
Between 2000 and 2006, he served as Center Director, Board member and TÜBİTAK Board of Directors representative. He served as the General Coordinator of Adana ÜSAM between 2007 and 2016, and also as the executive of the TÜBİTAK İŞBAP Adana ÜSAM Project between 2007 and 2010. During the 2014 - 2016 period, he managed the TÜBİTAK Adana ÜSAM SME Mentor Training Model Establishment and Implementation Project and the TÜBİTAK MENTOR-SEA Mentor Training Project.
He served as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors between 1999 and 2001 and as the Chairman of the Board of Directors between 2008 and 2014 at the Adana Power Unity Foundation, of which he was a founding member. Additionally, he served as the chairman of the Adana Coalition Foundation Economic Research Board between 1999 and 2003.
In 2001, he edited the book "Adana SocioEconomic Report", which was the product of the Board's work. He served as Advisor to the Rector of Ege University between 2014 and 2016.
He currently serves as the Chairman of the Executive Board of ÜSİMP - University-Industry Cooperation Centers Platform, which he founded in 2007. He is also the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Chamber of Electrical Engineers Scientific Journal and still holds this position. Additionally, EGE Technology Development Zone Executive Inc. He is a member of the Board of Directors. For more than twenty years, it has been carrying out institutional studies with the aim of transferring the knowledge of universities to the industry and increasing the technology-based competitiveness of the national industry. In institutionalizing university-industry relations; In establishing and executing R&D and innovation strategies in industrial organizations; In training the personnel who will work in the interface processes; In carrying out mentoring processes; Has experience in transferring new technology and/or knowledge to the national industry.
Cabbar Veysel Baysal

Short-Bio:
Cabbar Veysel Baysal was born in Adana, Turkey. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical and electronics engineering from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in 1990 and 1993, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Cukurova University, Adana, in 2006. From 1993 to 2009, he was an Engineer and a Manager in national and multi-national companies such as Unilever, Amylum Nisasta, and CJSC Intercorn, designing and implementing many plant-scale automation and electrical power projects. He had also served as a Consultant for industrial projects. From 2009 to 2010, he was a Visiting Professor with the Robotics Laboratory, at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. From 2012 to 2024, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, at Cukurova University. He is the author or coauthor of about 25 research publications between ISI/Scopus papers and conference papers. His current research interests include rehabilitation robotics, bio-inspired robotics, robot hand grasp synthesis, and intelligent control systems. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE since 2012. He was awarded the Associate Professor title by UAK as of March 2024 and continues to work at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, at Cukurova University.
He is an experienced Associate Professor with a demonstrated history of working in the research & industry. He has strong design and services experience in industrial automation, electrical power and energy systems. His research experience is focused on robotics and intelligent control systems. He is a professional, skilled in C/C++, various CAD software and MATLAB, adaptive systems, human-robot interaction, rehabilitation robotics, energy, and engineering.
